About Us

Email: wandsworthcompanion@gmail.com

Welcome to the Wandsworth Companion website: a local news, history and information site for all discerning south-west residents.

Launched in January 2008, the site is in its early infancy. Over the coming weeks and months many more features will be added with the idea to make this site one of your favourites.

Written by local journalists, the site will keep you up to date with all the local news, sport, travel, retail, trade contacts and the odd exclusive story involving your borough.

The Wandsworth Companion book is hoping to be published in 2008 and we will also be keeping users up to date on all the unearthed history behind the borough.

There are also a host of features to be found on wandsworthcompanion.com. A dedicated forum will soon go live, where you can post your thoughts on local issues, council issues or nostalgic memories.

Another feature will be 'Up the Junction'. With thousands of people using Clapham Junction every day, there are many who wish they had the courage to talk to the person they saw on platform 10. Well now you will be able to get that second chance on this site!

Hi Rod,
A great idea and a great book, I've bought it and am enjoying it (sure my wife will love a fresh batch of local anecdotes...).
Just one comment though, apologies if it seems anal, but the places you describe as in Clapham (the Falcon pub and Dulka Road, SW11 for example) are actually in Battersea. Won't bore you any more, you can check www.lovebattersea.org.uk for further info.
Thanks and keep up the good work,
Bryce
